Storytelling Workshop

Rooted in Faith. Growing Through Stories.

Discover the power of a well-told story. Find your voice. Share goodness.

Storytelling is more than entertainment. It helps us understand the world, remember what matters, imagine different perspectives and connect with the wisdom of those who came before us.

The Storytelling Workshop is a seven-session storytelling workshop inspired by the richness of Islamic tradition. Through stories drawn from our faith and heritage, participants will explore the values, character and timeless lessons that stories carry.

Children will learn to bring stories to life through spoken storytelling, developing their voice, expression, presence and confidence as they learn to engage and connect with a listener. They will discover how to shape and share a story, use language with purpose, and communicate its meaning in a way that stays with an audience.

The journey culminates in a Storytelling Café, where participants will share their storytelling with the wider community.

At the heart of the workshop is the belief that stories can nurture moral imagination, deepen empathy and inspire us towards what is good, true and beautiful. By engaging with the stories and example of our Islamic tradition, we hope to grow in love for Allah and His Messenger ﷺ, carry forward our Prophetic inheritance, and inspire goodness through our words and actions.

What participants will develop

  • Imagination and understanding: exploring characters, choices, values and consequences.
  • Voice and confidence: learning to speak clearly, expressively and with presence.
  • Connection and communication: capturing a listener’s attention and sharing meaning through the spoken word.
  • Service and inspiration: using stories to nurture goodness and benefit our community.
