Islamic Studies – Saturday Study Circles for Adults (2026–27)

"Islamic Studies" is a free sacred education programme tailored for adults and graduates of maktabs, with a core objective of facilitating our ultimate life purpose: knowing God and leading a God-centric life, grounded in the exemplary model of our Beloved Prophet (peace be upon him) – the living embodiment of the Qur’an.
Our one-year Islamic Studies programme - running now for the fourth year - is designed for adults and teenagers seeking both structured knowledge and spiritual growth. Classes are small, interactive, and supportive, giving students the chance to ask questions, engage in discussion, and connect what they learn to their daily lives. A tea-break between classes provides a relaxed space for good companionship. Students of all levels are welcome.
The course has two enrol
Subject & Teacher:
- Fiqh of Marriage – Shaykh Uwais Namazi (Nadwat-ul Ulama, Ebrahim College, Qalam Institute)
- Prophetic Supplications – Shaykh Muhammad Husain Kazi (Darul Ulum Bury, Ebrahim College, Cambridge Muslim College)
Previous years include study of: 'Aqidah, Fiqh of Worship (Maraqi al-Sa'adat), Sirah, Names of Allah through the Qur'an, Surat Yusuf, 40 Hadith of Imam al-Nawawi.
Course content:
Fiqh of marriage: Taught by Sheikh Uwais Namazi, this course will use Muhktasar al-Quduri, a classical Hanafi fiqh text, as a base text to equip students with essential, relevant, and practical knowledge on marriage and divorce. Furthermore, it will provide students with an opportunity to go deeper into fiqh and appreciate how jurists think.
Prophetic supplications: Taught by Sheikh Muhammad Husain Kazi, this course will study selected chapters on du'a and prophetic supplications from the timeless hadith collection of Imam al-Nawawi, Riyadh al-Salihin. As part of this course, students will seek to memorise and apply many of these comprehensive prophetic supplications in their daily lives.
Course options:
Exam: Students will be given a mid-year and end-of-year exam; the aim of the exams is to facilitate learning and retention. Students who complete the exams will also receive a course completion certificate at the end of the year.
